Santa Barbara Island Race

Race #4 and the final race of the PSSA 2025 Dan Byrne Series — 65nm from Marina del Rey out to Santa Barbara Island, finishing at Catalina’s west end.

Back to its original MDR start format this year (it had been starting from Malibu). That means working upwind most of the way out to the island, with strategic choices about when to tack and whether to stay in the Santa Barbara Island lee or push through. The last third of the race is a downwind run to Catalina West End.
