Ship Rock Race

Race #1 of the PSSA 2025 Dan Byrne Series — 46nm out of Marina del Rey, around Ship Rock, finishing off Palos Verdes.

Short by offshore standards, but don’t let that fool you. The course threads through the shipping lanes, and with 35+ knot gusts on the Catalina side a real possibility, this one earns its reputation as a shakedown that actually shakes things down. Night sailing is on the table.

It also serves as the qualifier for Race #2, the Bishop Rock run to Cortez Bank, so getting here matters.
